Tragedy At This Years 2025 Baja 1000
This year’s Baja 1000 started off incredibly strong for our team. Pre-running went flawlessly both day and night, and we were fortunate to have Javi Valenzuela join us for a full run of the course on one of the days. The truck felt great, the team was locked in, and everything was lining up exactly the way we hoped.
Race day started calm and steady as we headed to the pit shortly after noon. At mile 367, Jason McNeil climbed into the Mason AWD #21 after Tavo Vildosola got out. From there, Jason began closing in on the leaders, running physically 4th and leading on corrected time. He took it down Fred’s Tractor Trail with zero issues and kept a solid, smooth pace heading back north.

Everything continued running flawlessly as Jason came into Morelia. The truck was strong, the team was in position, and it was shaping up to be one of our cleanest and most competitive races. We were right on the heels of the leaders, fully in the fight, and momentum was on our side.
Then, at mile 574, tragedy struck. Jason rolled the #21 Mason AWD race truck, abruptly ending what had been an incredible race up to that point. Thankfully everyone was okay, but it was a heartbreaking way to finish such a strong effort. Even so, we’re proud of the preparation, execution, and teamwork that got us there, Baja reminded us once again how unforgiving it can be, and we’ll be back stronger.
